Five date night your man will actually enjoy

Going out is fun for you, but is it fun for your partner too? Women are traditionally the focus of date night. You take “her” out to dinner or take “her” dancing.

But date night isn’t just for women anymore. Men everywhere are coming together and insisting they be “taken out”. Let’s be honest–your sweet one (SO) has crafted countless date nights focused around you. Maybe it’s time to take him out on a date night?

Always works! sports event

We aren’t sure why men love sports so much, but it’s genuine. Is it the sanctity of Sunday football?

Or is it just enjoying time spent with guy friends?

Whether it’s the opening game of the season or the super bowl, you can’t peel your man away from the screen. Sound familiar? Why not try making it into a date night?

Why it’s good for her:

Grab your jersey and get ready to cheer for your home team. Take advantage of yummy stadium snacks and attempt to get on the Megatron.

Why it’s good for him: He gets to do a hobby he enjoys while also hanging out with you — two for one deal.

Outdoor fun dates camping

Some people love camping, especially certain men. But you know what’s better than pitching a tent and going camping?

Glamping. Glamping is the perfect combination of camping for him and luxury for her. This resort-style camping is a great way to experience the great outdoors together without making her “rough it”.

Why it’s good for her:

Don’t go camping, go glamping. Trade in the traditional downsides of camping for more luxurious amenities you both can enjoy. Say goodbye to bugs and hello to electricity.

Why it’s good for him: He gets to go camping (and hopefully fishing too.)

Grill out

Grab a group of friends and head out to the porch. What could be better than a warm evening grilling out with close friends?

This event is an excellent opportunity for you and your SO to show off your cooking/grilling skills. Plan a creative menu, get the wine chilling, and fill the cooler with beer–this one will be a night that everyone will remember fondly. Amazing Food is easier than you think!

Why it’s good for her: It’s time to show off your impressive meal planning skills for your friends. Enjoy strolling through the local farmers market and filling your basket up with delicious ingredients. Be prepared to accept oodles of compliments at the end of the night!

Why it’s good for him: He gets to grill out with his best friend and his wife. He gets to drink and eat good food while enjoying the process of creating a meal. He feels more connected to his diet.

He gets to use fire, which is fun for men.

Indoor date ideas steak house

There is a reason this option is so popular for couples. A steakhouse is a classic romantic option for a date night that both parties enjoy. He gets a nice meal, and you get to dress up and live lavishly.

Why it’s good for her: This date night is the perfect excuse for you to show off your latest fashion finds. What could feel sexier than slipping into your favorite little black dress and Manolo Blahnik’s?

Why it’s good for him: Meat–hopefully aged, served bloody as hell and smothered in béarnaise. And the bigger, the better.

Beer or wine tasting

A beer or wine tasting can be a fun date night for all. Check out your local restaurant guide to find the right place for quality food and drink. Charcuterie boards are a good option. You can even build a cheese plate for a lovely picnic in the park.

Why it’s good for her: Not interested in growing a beer belly? Keep the beer to a minimum by pairing it with your favorite cheese and crackers.

Do some research and find the ideal tasting venue with an extensive small plate menu for snacking. Bonus–they probably do a wine tasting too!

Why it’s good for him: He gets to eat, drink beer, and spend time with you.

Bonus: simple quality time together

Why it’s good for both of you: Spending time together is the goal of any of these dates, so why not just cut to the chase? Sometimes sitting together in an embrace is all you need to stay connected to each other. Enjoy your time together and realize how lucky you are to know each other.
